Enigmatic Kitsune and Geisha Art Print - Traditional Japanese Woodblock Manga Illustration of Yurei
£12.95 inc. tax
A lot of my digital work is inspired by Japanese art, both modern and traditional. My influences include Katsushika Hokusai, Hishikawa Moronobu and Kitagawa Utamaro (ukiyo-e - pictures of the floating world/wood block artists), Koga Harue, Yumiko Kayukawa (surrealism) and more modern artists such as Chiho Aoshima, Makoto Muramatsu, Yoshitomo Nara and Akira Toriyama (digital art/manga). Most of these pieces start out with a sketch which is then scanned then manipulated in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
Inspired by traditional woodblock prints, this illustration brings to life the mythical fox spirit, known for its cunning and magical abilities, gracefully intertwined with the elegance and mystery of a geisha.
The artwork showcases the kitsune's ethereal form, adorned with intricate details that highlight its playful yet elusive nature, while the geisha exudes an aura of elegance and charm, reminiscent of the rich cultural heritage of Japan. Set against a haunting backdrop, this piece subtly weaves in themes of yokai and yurei, infusing the composition with a touch of the supernatural.
